<p dir="auto">If you want to sing on key better, learn how to play an instrument. Piano is best for beginners as it's easiest to learn vocal melodies on it…the part you sing, as opposed to background music. Start with one octave (C-A) and start memorizing what each key sounds like. Then when you sing, your voice will unconsciously adjust itself to the appropriate key. Then after hearing a song, you'll automatically know what keys are used.<br />
Your voice is essentially an instrument you're playing when you sing. Any melody you're singing, can be played on a piano. Singing isn't just random noises. To sing on key you have to learn what the keys are. With guitar, all you need to know is 4 chords and you can essentially play background music for anything.<br />
This is me just now playing the vocal melody "It Must Have been Love." I don't know how to play it, I'm just improvising it as I go: for easy songs, your instinct takes over and your fingers will go to the keys automatically.<br />
