The Beatles - Sgt Pepper's and The White Album - Used to listen to my sister's scratched vinyl copies when I was a wee lad. Timeless classics.
KISS - Double Platinum - KISS was my first favorite rock band. I listened to them constantly between the ages of 8 and 11. All of their early albums were great but Double Platinum, a double LP greatest hits anthology, probably got the most play on my turntable.
The Clash - The Clash (US version) - Wore out my vinyl copy of this one I did! The first punk band I fell in love with (aside from the Plasmatics). "Clash City Rockers", "I'm So Bored With The USA", "I Fought The Law", "Complete Control", "Police & Thieves", etc. So many great songs.
Gary Numan - The Pleasure Principle - New wave was the big thing sweeping America in the early 80s. A lot of it was crap but some of it had substance. I bought this one sometime in '81 or '82. The gloomy synths, bleak lyrics and futurist image totally hooked me. "Cars" was a hit song but the rest of the album is even better. Other new wave albums that had a big impact on me: IRS Greatest Hits Vol 2 & 3 (compilation), Go-Go's - Beauty & the Beat, Pretenders - Pretenders, and Devo - Q: Are We Not Men?
Black Flag - Damaged - Either this one or The Decline of Western Civilization soundtrack was my first true 'underground' punk album - I forget which one I bought first. Nevertheless, both albums blew me away at such a young age and Black Flag appeared on both. Damaged pretty much laid down the rules of hardcore punk. The album is stark, brutal (for its time), relentless, and tongue-in-cheek (but 'oh so serious' thanks to Henry). The upbeat novelty song "TV Party" actually received some mainstream attention at the time and was the closest thing Black Flag ever had to a 'hit song'.
X - Wild Gift - My favorite love songs.
Various Artists - This is Boston Not L.A. - I'm proud to say that every other punk compilation pales in comparison to this one. This was practically glued to my turntable for a year. The Freeze's songs alone are worth the price of admission but then there's the abrasive political punk of The Proletariat, the snotty rage of The F.U.'s, the teenage angst of Jerry's Kids, the sickness of The Groinoids, and the breakneck speed of Gang Green (they were considered "the fastest band in hardcore" until DRI came along)…this is the ****!!!
Throbbing Gristle - Entertainment Through Pain - Indispensable compilation by these industrial music pioneers. Introduced me to the genre.
There are so many more…

Metallica - Black Album
I was introduced in very early childhood. Loved dark, heavy, and weird **** for as long as I can remember. My brothers were really into metal, especially the one that isn't an abusive piece of ****. I was also into Nirvana, but they didn't have as big an impact until my preteens.
But yeah, Metallica and metal in general energized me. These days, I still love hard music, but I am not as much into metal… but it is because of metal that I listened to hard music of any kind at all.
Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
Even as a 5 year old kid, I connected to the melancholic sounds. I also thought the blonde girl on the cover was cute… and I emphasize… when I was 5. lol
I remember telling my then teenage cousin I wanted to be a singer when I grew up and like sang along the best I could to the music lol. Older siblings an cousins play a big part in my love of music.
Green Day - Dookie
The first band and album I listened to without any influence from family when I was in my preteens. They sang about stuff I could relate to and were my gateway into punk.
A lot of the other things that shaped me after that weren't really albums, but artists and songs.
I have a lot of other favorites, but these are the ones that really had a huge impact.
