<p dir="auto">Aside from being like the episode "Ice" it also reminded me of the episode "Darkness Falls" where loggers cut down an old tree releasing human eating bugs.<br />
It also had radical environmentalists &amp; the same message. Cutting down trees, polluting, blah blah, will come back to bite us in the ass.</p>

<p dir="auto">They also had an X-Files ep where there was some kind of "bug" parasite in the Antarctic or somesuch. Can't remember the name of the episode. This movie is also similar to The Thing (John Carpenter version). It's an idea that's been done a lot.<br />

<p dir="auto">totally agree, i just finished this movie and i kept thinking X-files. Darkness Falls and Ice, were scary creepy episodes and now that made a movie out of them. i wonder what's next!</p>

<p dir="auto">Ohhhh yeah I remember the episode with the bugs from the trees. Weren't they luminescent? That episode actually scared the <em>beep</em> out of me when I was a kid. Nice catch.<br />
