The bully is shown has the union leader, and the amazing Lloyd is shown to be apart of the south during the civil war. Do you think that Harold prefers the south? Does anybody know his up bringing, is he sense of location? I read that he was born in a south town, but I also read the opposite. I'm just curious on his views of the war, as so much was apart of it, like slavery of course..
Harold hasn't shown any racist views in his films (or outside them) has he!?

Lloyd was born in Nebraska, a Union state in the civil war. I don't know about the dramatic reasons for having the hero from the South but when I think of the civil war movies that I have seen they are generally from the Southern perspective, e.g The General, Gone with the Wind, The Littlest Rebel and other Shirley Temple movies. Lloyd certainly was racist. During the 1940's he participated in legal action to exclude African Americans from his neighbourhood.
