I thought the pillow went down once they understood each other & she knew things were going to move to the next step. She did not throw the pillow down for the gay guy but she did for Jim. He understood what it meant but was not willing to play along. He wasn't going to be one of her men or let himself be used that way; as a gigolo.

I don't think she wanted them drunk, just relaxed, comfortable, and in the right mood. Also, as someone else already mentioned on this thread, it was Catherine the Great of Russia who was known to have multiple affairs. Like Allison, she would reward them then toss them aside when she was done with them or became bored.
