My suggestion would be don't remake this film but make a new adaptation of the original H G Wells novel. Although this is one of my favorite classic horror films the book is much better and there's a lot to do with it. Good luck.

The book tells the backstory at the end of the it. I adapted the backstory to scenes, put it upfront and instead of telling what happened I show it.

A remake of the film isn't a bad idea. It could certainly work if you put the right amount of effort into it. I could see a modernization of the tale working. Just changing little things to make it more up to date for audiences. You'd have to make sure your lead actor is brilliant though otherwise the whole effect would be for nothing. He has to have an amazing voice and such so that even when you don't see him, his presence lights up the entire screen.
Real is good. Interesting is better.

I'd like to see it turn into an '80s style slasher movie. I think it would be interesting if the Invisible Man were a high school chemistry teacher who was constantly picked on and bullied by his students, so in his time away from school, he was perfecting an experiment that would allow him to turn invisible and get his revenge on the students.
Come, fly the teeth of the wind. Share my wings.

I should like to see a remake that focuses not on the aspect that the very procedure of turning somebody invisible makes him mad and go on a rampage.
Instead, I'd like to see a completely normal person slowly going mad simply due to isolation from his fellow human beings. I thought this was a brilliant aspect of the novel, how he was completely on his own and prying strangers were suddenly a danger to him. He could hardly hope to find any person willing to help him because he was different. And people are afraid of things that are different. It should be due to this isolation, due to his being different from everyone else in the world, that the invisible man grows more and more mad and hostile towards others.
Also, if the setting of a remake was today, I'd love to see the film focus on the invisible man being hunted by authorities, kind of like they did it in "Memoirs of an invisible man". That aspect of the film was just plain brilliant. How would an invisible man survive on his own? Where would he hide? How would he move about in cities unnoticed? What kind of technology would authorities use to hunt him down?
I'd even love to see a film about what would happen IF authorities caught him. What would they do with him?

I own the complete rights to the original Invisible Man book by H G Wells and acquired them in 2004. If you want to make a great film let's produce the original version from the novel. This story has NEVER been produced correctly the way Wells wrote it. Everything else is a cheap imitation of the real thing.

They could modernize the setting, make the to-be invisible man some affable cad who accidentally falls prey to an industrial accident and while hunted by government spook types more clearly realizes his own up until now transparent identity. They could cast Chevy Chase and Darryl Hannah. John Carpenter could direct.
