So I just watched this a day or so ago, and I thought it was one of the funniest movies I've ever seen.
I don't smoke pot, but I have no opinion one way or another regarding it's use or effects. I think like any substance, it really depends on how the individual reacts to it. The same can be said for stuff like Tylenol.
Anyway, I log onto the message boards to find
people are actually arguing about whether the movie is true
. Really??
This hilarious ephemeral was filmed in 1936 for godsakes.
1936
!!!! We've come a long way since then - at least I had HOPED we did - so it's hard to believe people actually take this movie seriously.
I'm not going to say that marijuana is harmful or harmless. Like I said, I think it depends on the person and their individual reaction so making blanket statements either way isn't a good idea.
But jeez - this movie is total propaganda. Blaming pot for everything wrong in society is just stupid.
As far as marijuana funding terrorism and such - then that's all the more reason to legalize it, IMO. Grow it here at home, tax it, and put the money towards something useful.
If people are worried about other people abusing marijuana, then we can say the same thing for any prescription drug with side effects.

We do say that. That's the reason they are prescription.

This movie is hilarious. I love it. The scary thing is that plenty of people still believe the myths detailed in this movie. I mean educated people. I personally know more than one person who believes that weed is more serious and deadly than crack or heroin. The positions these people hold and the power they have over other people would scare the crap out of you.
Marijuana should be legal, it's unbelievable that anyone would go to jail for smoking a naturally growing plant. Especially one that has multiple health benefits. And that is virtually impossible to overdose on.
"that hexagon-face bitch, she's so passive-aggressive."
