I agree. I don't understand how you can be commenting on a movie midway through it. I do agree that this was a hard movie to like in spite of it being fairly well done. There was also a couple of things that occurred in the plot that made me cringe.

Did you watch as far as the twist? I wasn't sure what to make of this movie until then. It seemed to cast the U-boat commander as an anti-hero, which I thought odd for a British movie in 1939.
