He made so many.
This film is generally considered one of the most effective war propaganda films ever made. Winston Churchill said that Mrs. Miniver had done more for the Allies than a flotilla of battleships.

Friendly Persuasion
is an excellent movie; probably a bit slow for today's younger generation, but that's their problem, not
Friendly Persuasion

there's a saying that "William Wyler never made a bad movie". Well I agree (although I have yet to see the O'Toole/Hepburn comedy) The Heiress, Best Years of our lives, Ben Hur, the Childrens' hour, the Big Country are all among my all time favourites. If anyone knows of a bad Wyler movie, point it out please! (maybe Friendly Persuasion)

Read my comments I made about another "admirer" of this overrated movie: Dr Joseph Goebbels. Read Heinrich Fraenkel and Roger Manvill's "Doctor Goebbels" and read how much "he liked the movie". Ironic, isn't it?
