side of the war: Dr Joseph Goebbels! In Heinrich Fraenkel and Roger Manvell's "Doctor Goebbels", the nazi propaganda minister "praised" this movie for its "propaganda value" for the Allies. One wonders if he got any "ideas" from it. Personally I found the movie long and tedious with a few fine moments [kind of like the young and arrogant "Miss Carol Beldon" played by Teresa Wright] but not much. Yes, it is overrated. But think of the time it was made. I can see the reason.

Hitler in many articles I have read thru the years. And Goebbels I can recommend "Doctor Goebbels" by Roger Manvell and Heinrich Fraenkel.

Saw "Wizard" and criticize German cinema for not making something similar. No joking. From German studios came the 1943 "The Adventures of Baron Muchausen", with German actor Hans Albers. Is in the "Kino" collection. And Hitler loved the Shirley Temple's movies.
