Do you think that Alvin Brewster is the inspiration for the character of Mr Burns in "The Simpsons."
Not the only inspiration, of course. "Citizen Kane," to name one movie, would also be a source. But there are a lot of similarities between Brewster and Burns.

Oh very good.. to my shame, I didn't spot that, but now it's so obvious - thank you. I've now got to try and find where he says 'excellent'.
I can well believe it is a deliberate reference.
