I am dying to know the name of the musical piece playing in the background (on a record player or radio)in the scene where veronica lake's character is talking to the big fat man at his mansion, just before she is tied up by his henchman. I've heard this musical piece before, and I could never find the name to it. Does anyone know? Is it relative to the scene?

Thanks,
I was about to ask the same question. It's strange to watch a film that is over 65 years old and recognizing some of the music. I knew it was familiar, but I couldn't place it either.
[EDIT: I think I remember it from perhaps a WB cartoon that was themed on Swan Lake.]

It was the theme from Tchaikowski's Ballet " Swan Lake ". The muted trombone sounded like Tommy Dorsey.
