Who wears a suit to a bonfire on the beach?
What was in that hot dog that made June fall asleep, and not wake up even after being carried to her car?
Why hitchhike to SF? It's not like there were roadblocks they could have driven. They'll be a lot more noticeable standing on the side of the road, or walking on the highway.
Why did Eric put a blank piece of paper in the safe deposit box? Was it supposed to be their marriage license? What was the point of that?
Since Eric planned the SF trip in advance, why wouldn't he have known where to go for a "marriage health certificate"? What if June had said no to his proposal? How would he explain the trip?

I think it was the thermos full of martini that made her pass out. She was, after all, a teetotaler before meeting Eric.
