<p dir="auto">I always thought a sequel would have been nice to see the course of their subsequent lives, perhaps Kris moving in with Fred, Doris and Susie and being available to dispense advice on various problems and issues which might come up.  Perhaps even a TV series, TV was just beginning around this time.  Every Christmas Eve Kris would disappear and everyone would always wonder hmm</p>

<p dir="auto">Yes, according to Maureen O'Hara, just before John Payne's death in 1989, he had been writing a sequel. Payne died before getting a chance to send her the script.</p>
