When Anna is walking away from Holly is it her way of saying you double crossed Harry so I will keep walking and not talk to you?. Always wondered as this scene I always watch with interest. She does not know Holly did it so she could stay in the country, and give up his friend at the same time. This is the very last scene at the end of the movie?

Yes, that was it. She was loyal to Harry no matter what he had done. A brilliant ending.

He tries to get her to reconsider, but we don't know what he says. She walks away. Good riddance to bad rubbish. Any woman who thinks a police informer is worse than a man who steals medicine from children allowing them to die of curable illnesses isn't worth having, no matter how beautiful she is.

I'm pretty sure the ending of this film was referenced in
The Departed
, when
Madolyn walks past Colin at the funeral and doesn't even acknowledge him.

one the great movie endings in history - I'd like to hear other examples from readers - I'm straining to remember others - Butch Cassidy comes to mind

Maybe write "spoiler alert" next time, eh?
Like the ending, actuallyit avoids the cliche' where she begins to run into his armsand makes you think more. Cold, to be surenever so much as glances at him.
Should be issued on DVD with multiple takes as alternate endings, assuming they shot it a few different ways
"You know it" Snake Karate Kid III

She missed her man plain be simple..It does not matter what he did. She had the chance to be reunited with the love of HER life and he foiled it. He was getting no where near her heart. It died along with her lover.

Though the ending is fascinating, it also remains infuriating. The only conclusion (Warning - Spoiler) is that Anna's belief is that loyalty means more than betrayal, even if that betrayal is to stop a fiend (who profits at the expense of yhe lives of children). Holly wishes to help Anna, but she shuns him for betraying Harry. Is she blinded by love? Is she blinded by some conformist view while the American Holly cannot morally allow his friend to commit heinous acts? I found the ending morable, but quite troubling.

She preferred the roguish but despicable Harry Lime over the perhaps boring boy-scout that was Holly Martins and she'd never forgive Holly for what happened.
