I like this one best so I am glad TCM still runs it although I missed it this year. My favorite Tiny Tim. Although he seems big, he's the one for me.

I've noticed that they don't often show the Alastair Sim version. So it's nice that they did this year. People need to know that this version exists.
I have it on DVD. It's worth getting. You can then watch it whenever you wish.

Oh, shoot, I missed it. Luckily I have it on DVD. It's THE Christmas movie at our house. But I had understood that TCM didn't have the rights, so I didn't look for it. It's really a Christmas Eve/Christmas morning movie. Happy holidays, everyone!

Beginning Christmas Eve around 8 PM, I think, it will be shown over and over again on FXM, like they do every year.

Great to see it on. It's my favorite version, and it seemed like it was missing there for several years. Hope they start to show it more, they used to show it all the time.

Well, the Reginald Owen version is MGM's, so it's in their vault. I don't know how broadcast rights work for any other studio, except I assume you pay for it. The Hicks version has been showing up on TCM for about 3 years, but it's a British production also- is it perhaps in public domain? The Sim version I've seen on commercial-cable television (AMC, FX, etc), but never on TCM. On the other hand, the host last night didn't say it was a premiere, so I don't know what to think.

I just noticed that myself - why this year? I was under the impression they didn't have the rights or something. They always run the Reginald Owen one into the ground, and they've been working the Seymour Hicks version in last 2 years, but no Alaistair Sim! Well, I'm happy it's on, been a while since I've seen it, and I'm well versed enough in the others to be able to compare. The consensus seems to be this is the best, I'm curious if I'll agree!
