For those who have never seen this film version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL, the venerable and versatile British actor portrayed young Jacob Marley. And with his recent passing, at age 93, went one of the few remaining (if not sole surviving) cast members who was also an adult at the time the film first hit movie theaters.

I watched 'A Christmas Carol' a couple of times this last week, and today also had to pull out my VHS of 'The Avengers' episode 'Too Many Christmas Trees', where Mrs. Peel takes Steed to a Dickens-themed Christmas party at the estate house of a publisher played by Mervyn Johns.
This episode has some resemblance to the 1945 anthology spooky movie 'Dead of Night', starring Mr. Johns. Highly recommended stuff all around.
