From the master list of 921 titles, compiled from ten sources, the list was manually highlighted to include those titles appearing on at least eight of the ten sources, producing a list of 257/893 titles identified as CONSENSUS NOIR (1940-1959). Seven of the ten sources included titles from the 1960s (and later). Titles identified by at least five of the seven sources have been highlighted with a contrasting color, producing a list of 7/28 titles identified as CONSENSUS NOIR (1960-1965).
Shoot me an email me and I will send you this PDF list.

Having just edited a book on "film noir," it became very apparent to me that this so-named genre is questionable as a legitimately-concocted approach to film.
No one who made these films was ever aware of the codified approach.
The qualities were only recognized by French film critics (thus the name).
Furthermore, those who followed in its wake didn't intentionally copy it.
Furthermore, there are later films that CRITICS/SCHOLARS designate as iterations of the presumed genre, but such calls are questionable.
"Don't call me 'mac' HONEY!"
