My dog, Margot, was sitting in my lap and she wouldn't take her eyes off the screen. I usually try to interest her in movies that feature other dogs, but she apparently enjoyed this. The violent love scenes between Robert Ryan and Barbara Stanwyck captivated her.
There is no "off" position on the genius switch.
