Thank you for your insights, Denis - it's always tricky to review old films when you weren't around at the time.

"There's No Business.." actually made a LOT at the box-office, it just couldn't make enough to cover the cost. "River of No Return" made money too. MM referred to these films as "bombs" and "flops" but that was because she was forced to make them, and didn't feel she was particularly good. This was the era of her peak appeal at the box-office.
Later, no so much.
