Oh please, Columbus is worse than Phenix City and has been as long as Ive been alive. There are murders every week in Columbus. Phenix City was not as bad but in the last 8 years, they are right behind Columbus. I know all about the Colonial Inn and all the crap on 280. Victory Drive is MUCH worse.

Your just ignorant then. Downtown and historic columbus is beautiful (the area around csu and broad) I live about 50 yards off the 280 bypass and there is nothing bad about 280. By the way, the colonial inn is not a restaurant its a hotel, the del ranch is not on 280 its out in smiths now, not too far from my old high school. Im in phenix city right this moment and can walk outside just fine. It does look a little run down, that is true so i can see how its scary looking but if you think there is all that much danger here your delusional because i have never had any crime committed against me or even seen a crime here aside from the idiots who cant drive.

Columbus isn't much better but I dread the drive through Phenix City on my way to Panama City.

I live in phenix city and have my entire life with the exception of one year. Yes, there are "bad" parts of town and we do have a meth problem here but it is not particularly dangerous unless you go to the hotels that the meth heads use (the bamboo apparently blew up from a meth lab not long ago). Most of the really bad stuff goes on in columbus now. Prostitution is synonamous with victory drive and there are people killed daily over there. The majority of phenix city is still however owned by a single land owner, which is why many companies and businesses will not come here. The del ranch is a crap hole but i dont see any real danger. Phenix city does have a biker gang or two but from what i hear, they are actually really good. One ran some drug dealers out of the area.

Yes. I'm from Phenix City. I've never been to the Colonial Inn or the more dodgy parts b/c I've always known to stay away. It is almost common knowledge to stay away from certain parts. The problems of today have more to do with drugs, car dealerships, bail bondsmen. The most prominent problem has to be the unspoken segregation of Phenix City. South and North Phenix City are as different as day and night. And that is kind of how it is in many other towns in the south.
But as far as gambling and prostitution goes, there is really nothing big going on.

You went to the wrong place.I lived across the bridge for 34 years and I can tell you things about back rooms and watery graves that will scare you.Did you try the Del Ranch or the mexican restaurant there on 280 or did you try The Colonial inn restaurant there on 280?I could go on and on.I know that place like the back of my hand!!!
Anyone who watches "Pulp Fiction" should get a phone call in which someone says"seven days"!!
