It was horrible. I wanted to shoot myself.
I mean I a m fine with the dialogue being almost exactly the same, but it is that very fact that riles me. I am expecting the line to be said a certain way, and EVERY time, I am disappointed because it isn't Paul, Joanne, Lee or Anthony or Orsen
Then they changed Clara name to Noelwtf? Is that the name that was used in the short stories?
Then they added some rubbsih about Eula having an affair, and that man who was quick's daddy was hastling Ben on the street. (Was this also in the stories?)
Then it is set in 1985 which I dont think works very well.
Some of these grievances are silly. They couldn't make a complete remake, excatly as it was, and i realize that, buti think I just like the original too much and anything that isnt that, but is trying to be just makes me angry.
Also, absolutley no chemistry between Don Johnson (who I dont really like anyway) and the Clara character. It was just sad trying to watch themthe bedroom was esp pathetic even when he called her nametry to do that with Noel, not nearly as sexy as with Clarai get chills just thinking about Paul saying it.
Those willing to give up liberty for security, deserve neither

The remake was really awful, IMO, but it would be hard for any other cast to compete with the originalit was a perfect blend, Paul and Joanne, Tony and Lee, even Orson and Angela!
And I have never been a fan of Cybil Shepherd, eitherhighly overrated! Judith Ivy was pitiful as ClaraDon Johnson is a dog

Don Johnson and Jason Robards were good, the rest I don't think so. Cybill Shepard can't act for s***, and besides, I think she was only interested in sleeping with Johnson. Which she did, in the end.

LOL! No-o-o-el? I don't think so.
I'm with you; this movie is perfect in its original form. I have absolutely no interest in a remake.
