I just watched this last night and it never came across as great or even really good. it was mostly boring and slightly interesting and slightly creative or original. not much to say except it was just ok.

it wasn't dark enough or darkly comedic enough to be really good. I just can't believe how it is at 6.8 especially when other greatly and supremely better films are at like 3.2 or 4.0 or 5.0. films like vamp u, do not disturb, or on the road with Jonas. also, the title was misleading. not much blood in this movie at all. gosh dang so El Mariachi really is impressive with how cheaply it was made at just 35K! imagine that. a movie which is considered crazily cheaply made, this movie at 50K and then go 34 years later and make a movie for 35K!
I'm glad you agree with me. but why did you say mostly right? what was I not right about? and how come when you criticize a movie or actor or director on here, more times you get a negative response that is mean and crass and rude and hurtful where the person attacks you than getting a response where the person agrees with you? how come they are more compelled to disagree with you if they respond than agree with you?

No, you're mostly right. This film is a dark comedy, a difficult genera to be successful in, IMHO. Corman was lampooning the beatnik generation, of which he was a part. It had a 50K budget and was shot in 5 days. Corman even claimed he created the title just to get people into the theater. It's a B movie and pure drive-in fodder. 5/10
