Was this film a knock-off of
House of Wax
, in which Vincent Price' character uses real people dipped in wax as his sculptures?
House of Wax
came out in 1953. Just curious if anyone knows the history.

It was most likely inspired by the film, House of Wax. That doesn't necessarily make it a rip off, though.

Yes, I see your point about the tone and characters. I think we're at the point with film, like fashion, where there aren't a lot of truly new ideas.
