I got really confused in the end, where we see the doctor coming out of the chamber to be interrogated by the police. I thought they would visit him at his house, and now here he is in the hospital! Did i miss something obvious here?

His house and the clinic were on the same grounds. I thought that was made clear at the start of the film when he drove his car there after giving his lecture in town. We saw him drive in the gate, drop off his assistant, then drive a little further down the road (still behind the entrance gate) to his home.

Logically the movie falls apart by the end, but it didn't bother me that much, somehow it still works.

I thought the exact same thing..I thought his house was far away from the hospital and than at the end he came out and walked across the street, I was like what?
