I tried watching it twice and both times it stops when the daughter has just opened the birdcage, after having let the dogs loose which have attacked her father.
Can anyone tell me what happens next?

You mean you watched it on DVR? I had the same thing happen to me, but I assumed it was because the film ran over the scheduled recording time.
The entire movie is on YouTubewith spanish subtitles.
