SMH , what does a soap opera have to do with spencer tracys acting or the movies he's done ? First off the best way to tell who knows how to act is in theater not on t.v /movies.In the case of spencer tracy who came from the theater and its clear he was very dedicated to his craft .He is one of the rare few actors who actually learned to recreate life ;unlike the majority of actors who just act. This brings me to soap operas, first of all soap operas are rushed productions .With a soap opera its more about the drama then the actual acting the actors on soap operas. Are usually at best decent actors with marketable looks; making soap operas is like making cars .Its a factory production there is absolutely no substance at all to these things .
It is strictly made for entertainment purposes nothing more should be made out of it .These shows are strictly made for water cooler discussion thats it.Soap operas have never turned out any spencer tracy quality performances that i know of.Also there is nothing artistic about soap operas its all craft, same with movie making its all craft.Actors doing soap operas do two three scenes in a day so they really got no time to get there beep down as thoroughly as if they were shooting a film.Soap opera acting just has to be good enough to serve the purpose of each episode;essentially its all mickey moused .
movies. Buy a Picasso"
