I read in the trivia part of this site that the film took almost a year to make. While watching the movie, it seems that in some scenes [especially in some of the early villa sequences] that Rock Hudson had lost a lot of weight and hardly looked like himself. His face was thin and skin was hanging from his neck. Later in the film, he looks like Rock again. Has anybody read a biography of Hudson that explains this? Did he get an attack of "turista" while filming in Italy??

I thought Rock looked skinny in some scenes and more normal in others.
Looked like Rock lost nearly a stone at times.
I was wondering if it had something to do with singles or the clothes.
It mildly distracted me.
So your info sounds right to me.
