Night Gallery (1969) came after this movie (1962) and there's a deffinet similarity. But then again Twilight Zone (1959) has it's similarities too and Twilight Zone started before this movie was made.
All three are cousins to each other in their basic form but I think Night Gallery which faded the last scene to a painting just as Tales of Terror does, is a bit more similar.
Then you have Trilogy of Terror (1975).
All are good. I guess one good idea leads to another huh?
I like waking up in the morning not knowing who I'll meet or where I'll end up: The Titanic

The form of this film is called "Portmanteau". Many stories in one and it started long before the first you mentioned.
Reference is inscrutable because there is nothing to scrute.
