In the episode "The Hundred Days of the Dragon", a US presidential candidate is assassinated. This episode aired 2 months before Pres. Kennedy was assassinated. I wonder if it was repeated in 1964, or considered too close for comfort?

I thought that Sidney Blackmer as the double for the murdered president bore a resemblance to former President Herbert Hoover. It's strange how people get cast as political figures, especially American one.

I never noticed that! I'm certainly going to look closer the next time I watch it. Thanks for telling me!

Pine certainly had more hair..
Speaking of lookalikes, I've always liked the scene near the end of "Dragon" where "President Selby" is making small talk with daughter Carol, her husband Bob, and 2nd Lady Ann Pearson, people are dancing in a large open area, and an almost perfect double of Jackie Kennedy(except for the nose) whirls into our screen.

No. Besides, Philip Pine was MUCH better looking than Richard Nixon.

Phillip Pine, the actor who played Vice President Pearson, looked an awful lot like Richard Nixon, who had just finished an eight-year stint as VP when this episode aired. Do you think it was deliberate type-casting on the part of the producers?

wow back then, some series ran almost 40 episodes, or more. now 25 is the norm.
Stefano and Stevens knew a lot of what was going on behind the scenes.
I somehow missed the GALAXY BEING, but was able to catch THDOT DRAGON-and being bored stupidi was only 10 and it seemed more an espionage story than science fiction

They must held off on showing "Hundred Days of the Dragon until the series went into syndication in 1965 (?) or whenever.

13 Outer Limits episodes were re-run during the summer of 1964. Hundred Days of the Dragon wasn't one of them. A full list and dates of TOL reruns can be found on this site:

Many years ago I remember reading an article about in TV Guide or someplace about the "Outer Limits". According to the article "The Hundred Years of the Dragon was not rerun for some time. It's uncertain weather that meant late summer 1964 or season two.

I don't if what it was repeated in 1964, but as soon as the show shown in reruns it was part of the rerun package. I recall coming home from school in the first grade and seeing it and that would have been 1965 or 1966.
