<p dir="auto">The unaware townsfolk gradually realizing they are victimized by hordes of menacing creatures, barricaded in the house, etc. Add that Psycho invented the slasher film, and North By Northwest in many ways the James Bond film, and Hitchcock's influence is far beyond just camera tricks</p>

Nor did 'Psycho' invent slashing, nor did 'NxNW' invent international intrigue. There was fifty years of filmmaking before any of these titles emerged.<br />
