Watching this on DVD. Near beginning of film Gen. Black gives orders to Airman Sloat. Does anyone know who this actor is? (Not currently listed in Full Cast and Crew on this site.) I think it is Bobby Darin, but I am not sure. Any other opinions?

Are you talking about the airman who is told to 'button up before the general gets here'? If you are, then there is a slight resemblance but I don't think it is Bobby Darin. And just FTR, it was Colonel Cascio
