If you love the 3 Man With No Name films, what greatly admired fiction and/or even nonfiction Western themed book/s you've read (with similar, or even more interesting themes and characters than those in the 3 Man With No Name films), would you love seeing get spaghetti Western film adapted, as in they'd be filmed in Europe, rather than in North America, which they don't have to be set in. Please elaborate on what the story is about and why you admire it so much. It doesn't have to be set in the same time period.

I wonder if some young director
would give the "Sergio Leone" treatment to some of the "classic" American westerns like
High Noon
and
Shane.
As I recall,
High Noon
was aiming for grand suspense but it just became tedious after a while.
I don't remember anything about
Shane
except that goddamn kid at the end. LOL

The Yakima Henry series by Frank Leslie would be perfect for the spaghetti western treatment. He is a half Indian gun fighter with some kung fu skills always running into trouble. The stories are full of wild characters, violent action, and lusty women, very politically incorrect, but fun to read.

The 'Adam Steel' series by Terry Harknett (pen name, George G. Gilman), would make for a damn good movie; especially the first one ('The Violent Peace'); it's about an ex-confederate solder seeking revenge on the men that lynched his father (believing him to be the man that assassinated Abraham Lincoln). He slowly and sadistically tortures the men to death while he himself is pursued by a determined lawman who was once a close friend. This very well-written (and very graphic) pulp western spawned a total of 48 sequels, everyone of them chock-full of action, drama and grim humor!
