Plus points go to "The Shadows of Paris" for being one of the most unforgettable original songs in a film.

My first experience with (the live-action) Inspector Clousseau was this movie back in '77 one night on TV. I'd been watching the Pink Panther cartoons since the '60s and was familiar with the Inspector cartoons from the Pink Panther Show on Saturday mornings.
My father said to me "You have to watch this movie." The TV announcer mentioned Inspector Clousseau at the start of the movie, and I thought it was a strange coincidence it was the name of a cartoon character I watched every Saturday at the time. But then when I heard the theme song in the opening credits I knew it was more than a coincidence.
I thought it was one of the funniest movies I ever saw up to that point, if not THE funniest. Sometimes I have trouble deciding which one I like the most; this one, "Return", or "Strikes Again".
