<p dir="auto">I wonder if people who take Project Management training / seminars are show this movie as a text book way to manage a large project i.e. Dorfmann being the ultimate project manager of a diverse team.  He managed to overcome a number of obstacles to get the project completed in the designated amount of time.</p>

<p dir="auto">That's a good point, and it amplifies my point in another TFotP thread that engineering is very specialized (and Dorfmann is a little TOO good at too many engineering disciplines).<br />
The problem is, aside from "we'll do the heavy lifting jobs first because the men will become increasingly tired", the movie doesn't really show you the mechanics of Dorfmann's thinking, the factors he has to weigh, or the tradeoffs that have to be made . . . and, to be a project manager myself for a minute . . . . a 142 minute movie x salary for N people = a lot of money to spend for fairly little payoff.</p>
