I know I am getting a little 'long in the tooth' (old) but I could swear that the original release of this movie had a different sound track. Does anyone else out there agree or am I confusing this film with another? Oops, I didn't see the rest of the posts. They answered my question. I consider the original release to be better than the extended version mainly because of the sound track.

I like the new Soundtrack more than the old one. It's not over top dramatic as the old one.

I did enjoy seeing the film without that ridiculous Star Trek-ky sound that was inserted by the studio at each point Harris's character said, "Until the Apache is taken" do-do-do-do.It was so out of place. And I didn't mind the new soundtrack, but that's a matter of opinion only. The little sound effect thing I think should be everyone's opinion.

I watched this expanded version of Major Dundee last night on TCM. This new soundtrack does not work. At times it overwhelms, rather than accompanies the film. This appears to be an example of what can go wrong when someone not associated with a project attempts to "fix" it.

The Caliendo score is sleep-inducing. Watch the movie with it if you're having trouble getting to sleep.

The Caliendo score is much better than the Amiftheaterof version, which is piss poor.

I liked that the Extended Version DVD allowed you to listen to both soundtracks. I watched it once with the new Caliendo score, but all the other times since I've stuck with the original. It just fits better.
