<p dir="auto">Atmosphere, photography great. Christie's performance seemed one-dimensional. Maybe the part was written that way. For a non-epic film, it was awfully long and slow.</p>

<p dir="auto">Me too!  It was so well cast, and beautifully acted and photographed.  I know it's too slow for some people, but I just love it.<br />
I was disappointed they remade it.  It seems very unnecessary.  I couldn't watch the remake, not after Julie Christie, Stamp, Bates and Finch.</p>
