<p dir="auto">The new 2008 Region 2 release from Optimum Home Entertainment is the SAME one that was released in March 2007 as part of the Julie Christie Collection - Screen Icons box set. It's the last DVD from this set to be released separately. It's a muddy transfer of a poor print with a cropped picture and not in widescreen. A proper quality widescreen DVD release in the correct aspect ratio of 2.35:1 is long overdue. Hopefully either Criterion or the BFI will release a proper restored version of this great film. Over the years my pleas have been falling on deaf ears. Avoid this one.</p>

<p dir="auto">I agree with you. I have just bought the new one and was disappointed to see that there was no improvement on the last version. There must be a better print somewhere.</p>
