One of my favorite scenes in the movie is the recruiting drive through the streets of London to fill the ranks. I was wondering howeverdoes anyone know if the cavalry actually recruited in this manner? I know the British army and especially the navy grabbed whoever whenever they needed them, but somehow I thought the cavalry would have higher standardsespecially the hussars!
For the average dreg in the streets it actually seems like a pretty good deal. After all, you get a nice uniform, a horse, 3 squares a day, and instructions on left vs. right!
