The Immortal Story is now on Hulu Plus as part of their Criterion collection they have streaming. Perhaps this will someday mean that Criterion will release a DVD of this beautiful film, or so we can hope

I thought the exact same thing when I saw it was available on Hulu Plus. I wonder why its on there but not available on DVD/Blu-Ray?
