EDITH GOETZ?
The actress (Marge Champion? )playing the hostess and lady of the house seems to have been made up to look like Mrs. Goetz, who was also married to a movie mogul. She was said to have thrown the biggest parties in Hollywood from the 1950s to the 1970s. She was also known to be such a snob.
