Instead of Dr. Hill and telling him stuff. Couldn't she had just gone to one of her friends instead.

Damn! If only Redford had played him! This might have been his big break! Instead, he had to wait another year for Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid!
Seriously though, I'm having a hard time picturing him and Mia Farrow as a couple.
Maybe it's because I'm use to Cassavetes.
This is another one that is on my October watch list. Another is The Stepford Wives. The original from the mid 70s. Both are by Ira Levin.

I had trouble seeing what Rosemary saw in Guy, perhaps because Cassavetes conveyed a certain "hood" quality,
Yeah. As you know, Robert Redford was the first choice for the role.
Guy IS supposed to be handsome, charming and talented. He's just impatient for his big break (to a fatal degree!)

Ha ha. The wonderful Guy Woodhouse. I had trouble seeing what Rosemary saw in Guy, perhaps because Cassavetes conveyed a certain "hood" quality, especially if you remember him as Franko in
The Dirty Dozen
. Hardly the last person in the world to make a deal for personal advancement.

a bunch of younger women notice how drawn and ill Rosemary looks and they kind of rally around her, with no great sense of deference for doctors.

In a film that is dark, if sometimes darkly comic, one of the few lighter spots is when a bunch of younger women notice how drawn and ill Rosemary looks and they kind of rally around her, with no great sense of deference for doctors.
It would have been better if Rosemary had tried to rely more on that.

I think her goal was to get checked into a hospital and additionally she was scared that Saperstein, Minnie and Roman had potentially done harm to the baby with their cakes and vitamin drinks. So I think in her mind she needed a doctor right away.
