Of course, Melville's film I think is certainly up there with the best. But arguably can it perhaps be THE best? Thanks ahead for your input.</p>

<p dir="auto">Pan's Labyrinth was not about the French Resistance; it took place in Spain after the Spanish Civil War (though I suppose the remaining Republican loyalists were similar to the French Resistance fighters).<br />
