No, they're not as good of a pair as Redford and Newman were, but they'd still be a pretty handsome pair and they would be able to pull off the roles. Despite the fact that Brad Pitt has blond hair, I'm still picturing him as the role of Butch and Leo as the role of Sundance. I don't know the details about the actual people though. Maybe Sundance got his nickname because of his blond hair. I suppose a remake could be an insult to the original movie and the epic pairing of Redford and Newman, but I would still prefer to see that than a lot of the films Hollywood is coming out with these days. It would be a good movie that would sell well without a heavy use of CGI effects.

Why? By the time the PC crowd are finished with it Etta will be running the gang acting as a Robin Hood to the peasants of Bolivia feeding them with the bank money they steal. Unlike the original that just hinted at it they will probably also have her straight up involved with Butch and Sundance as well, both of them catering to her every whim.
No. Please no.

Jeezus, another remake moron. WTF is wrong with these people? The original should NEVER be remade, it holds up as well today as it did in 1969. Pitt and DiCaprio? Both are great at what they do but leave the classics alone.
I spend my money on dope, sex and cheap thrills.

I think a Pitt / Clooney pairing would be better. I don't normally go for remakes of classic films but for some reason I think a remake of this film would work. And their sense of humour which they show in their acting would be perfect.
Reading the other comments, I do think the Bolvia portion of the film is the best bit I found the first hour a little slow with very little happening but in Bolvia the film goes into orbit with great action sequences, humour and action.

No. Just no. There is no movie pairing that will EVER match wjat redford and Newman had in terms of chemistry and banter. If they ever remade this movie it would flop and it would be a huge embarrassment to everyone involved.

The storyline is the most important part of the film not what the stars look like. Hollywood should be forced to not make remakes, create new and good storylines and scripts and entertain us properly. For the past 10 years you'll be lucky if one decent film has come out in each of the years.

Redford was no Laurence Olivier ya know.he basically plays the same snarky character in every movie he's in, including this one.
Don't get me wrong this movie is a classic, but Redford was a great-looking movie star, not necessarily a great
actor
