Loved this series at the time but just watching some DVDs of the first series and I find the canned laughter annoying - and very dated.
I wonder if they could filter it out of the sound track?
I have always depended on the kindness of Strangers - and the bastards let me down!

Having watched two series with the canned laughter I will be somewhat annoyed if I can do that with my copies. It never occurred to me to look for an option like that so thanks - I think 😀

I have the DVDs and you can change the audio track to play without the laugh track. Actually I'm pretty sure that became the default audio track at some point.

Apparently there was no laughter track when originally broadcast in the UK - so why the frack is it present on the Region 2 version I have? Just laziness I guess.
