<p dir="auto">This is the very definition of irony.  Patrick Swayze plays a soldier trying to donate his blood to his friend since they're the same blood type, and while cross-typing, Hawkeye discovers Pvt. Sturgis (Swayze) has cancer.<br />
In this case, it's leukemia, but given the time period, it was a death sentence.<br />
This is almost surreal to watch.<br />
