In the film it is supposed to be below Zabriskie Point in Death Valley NP. And the eroded mud dune-gullies look just like the ones below the Point. But I cannot believe the NP Service allowed this scene and the off trail trampling of the mud. So if not in the National Park, then where?
Where is the town that Daria visits where the young boys attack her? Is that bar still there?
