<p dir="auto">For some reason I see a direct connection between this movie and Mad Men. These are two sides of the same coin.<br />
It is strange how the "negative" capitalists in Zabriskie Point are shown differently in Mad Men, how the view point, along with viewer's sympathy, changed sides after all these years. Same people that "blown up" here are actually quite human there.<br />
I think the fatalistic note in Point, the sense of "we fight, but we know that we will lose" is exactly what Mad Men emphasize by being created and so well recepted.<br />
Mad Men won, eventually. Zabriskie Point no longer exists. (Not the movie, the general idea it represents. The movie is still great).<br />

<p dir="auto">The depiction is certainly less scathing but I don't really believe that it's all rainbows and butterflies either.<br />
Clear eyes, full hearts, can't lose.</p>
