Britt Ekland was memorably sexy in her regrettably small role.
You've seen Guy Standeven in something because the man was in everything.

They are actually in the same shot (around 1 minute into the film), together with the two Fletcher brothers, so they definitely met.

There definitely needs to be a director's cut and deleted scenes edition in one DVD and BD.

I think that the coolest part of the phone sex scene is that while it's going on, the focus is on the landlady who is rocking her chair back and forth clearly, she's getting in on the action as well.

There was more with Britt Ekland, but it was cut. There was a mention that her face would be slashed and this was part of the movie, but the director didn't feel it fit in with the rest of the movie. Britt, apparently, was pissed that this was cut from the final movie.

Caine said it was the first example of phone sex on film and he had the "reply lines" fed by a burly bloke!

Caine and Ekland never actually met on the film. They did their parts apart!

Yeah I was very suprised how little Britt Ekland was in this movie. She was the fourth name in the credits but had the least amount of screen time out of all the females in the movie. Shame because I always found her to be one hottess British women ever.

One of my favourite scenes is in the pub with the female singer taking a fancy to a bloke in the crowd. She strokes his face and his bird jumps up and they're rolling on the floor clawing at each other's faces and hair (typically female, that!). Strangely that's not in the remake.

Women just aren't treated gently in this film! The landlady is about the only one getting a measure of pleasure out of it.
