Can anyone recommend any other British Gangster films from that period of time??I watch all the contemporary films in the genre that took of after Lock Stock, but am primarily interested in films that were made in the 50's, 60's, and 70's of that genre. I've asked around but the response I am getting is there really is not that much else out there. I would appreciate any recommendations

Get Carter (1971) immediately reminded me of Performance (1970), another British crime film that had just come out a year earlier. These films a rather similar and I think it's likely that Get Carter might have been somewhat influenced by Performance. In particular, I think of the spliced editing in Get Carter that shows Carter in car with a girl and in bed with the same girl. Similar spliced editing had been famously used in Performance.
